Terms of Service
1. Agreement
By downloading or using AVOW ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What AVOW does
AVOW offers Personal Focus and Verified Focus. Personal Focus requires no tracking and does not count toward verified statistics. Focus Mirror is an optional camera view that you deliberately enable on your device. Verified Focus uses on device detection to count only the time you are physically present and no phone is detected in the camera's view near your work area. This check is required for verified minutes; Tracking & sound changes the warning, not the counting rule. In the browser, verified Computer Work also requires webcam presence and an entire screen share showing readable work. Losing either source pauses credit. Detection is automated and not perfect: lighting, camera angle, obstructions and device position can affect it, and AVOW cannot observe phone use outside the camera's view. AVOW is a productivity aid, not a measurement instrument, and results are provided as is.
3. License
We grant you a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use AVOW on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms.
4. Free tier and subscriptions
AVOW includes three free sessions total, shared between Verified Focus and Personal Focus. After those sessions, Passport or an individual session purchase is required for either mode. In Verified Focus, Flowers, Bridge Crossing and Neural Network require Passport. Personal Focus permits every Space and destination with any valid session access; selecting any Space preview is free and earns no progress. Both modes use one shared allowance receipt at session start. Personal Focus creates no performance record. Free starts for an account check its allowance online; an active session can continue offline. Previews, failed starts, retries and resuming the same session do not use another receipt. Continuing the same active session does not use another allowance or purchase. After the free allowance, a new session in either mode requires AVOW Pro (Passport) or an individual session purchase where available. AVOW Pro is a subscription that renews automatically: $4.99/month or $39.99/year. The monthly plan has no introductory free trial; payment starts immediately at purchase. The annual plan carries an introductory free trial of three days through Apple for eligible new subscribers, separate from the three free sessions; Apple alone determines eligibility, and annual subscribers who are not eligible are charged immediately at purchase. Prices may vary by region and are shown in the app before purchase. Where available, after the free allowance you may buy one individual session for $0.99 in the US instead of subscribing. This optional consumable grants one session in either mode. It permits every Space and destination in Personal Focus; Verified Focus retains its Passport exclusive Space requirements. The price is shown by the App Store before purchase. Unused sessions do not expire and are linked to the AVOW account you signed in to. A Verified Focus purchase is used after camera readiness and server confirmation. A Personal Focus purchase is confirmed before its timer starts and requires no camera. Interrupted purchase requests recover the same permission without charging twice. Once a paid session starts, ending it uses that permission. Refunded unused purchases are removed from your balance; refunds do not create verified work or extra sessions.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase or, for an eligible annual trial, when the trial ends unless cancelled at least 24 hours earlier. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
5. Acceptable use and your content
Do not reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the app, and do not use it in any way that violates law or the rights of others. The app is not intended for monitoring anyone other than yourself.
If you create an account and use community features (friends, teams, groups, leaderboards), use respectful handles and names, do not impersonate others, and do not harass anyone. Community affiliations are verification based: do not fake a location, use an email address you do not control, or otherwise misrepresent your region, school, or company. We may remove content or affiliations, decline requests, restrict community access, or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
Personal alarm recordings and imported audio stay on your device and remain yours. You are responsible for the content of your recordings and for having the necessary rights to any audio you import. Do not record other people without their consent.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
AVOW is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that detection will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that the app will improve your output; that part is on you.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Termination
You may stop using AVOW at any time. We may terminate or suspend the license if you breach these terms. Sections 6 through 9 survive termination.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict of law rules. Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence remain unaffected.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; the current version is always available at this address and inside the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
